HSK Level 1 Vocabulary List

Level 1 of the HSK is designed for learners who can understand and use some simple Chinese characters and sentences to communicate, and prepares them for continuing their Chinese studies. In the HSK 1 exam all characters are provided along with Pinyin.

The first level of the HSK recommends a basic vocabulary of 150 words comprised of 174 individual Chinese characters. This list is provided here for reference during your preparation for the HSK exam, and a free HSK level 1 PDF download is also available below.
